Justification

The southeast portion of the city has experienced huge growth over the last decade. This has led to a significant portion of the city’s population living in homes and working in businesses that lie beyond the 5-minute drive time goal established by the Fire Department and approved by City Administration. The location of this fire station will provide the citizens living in the southeast portion of the city the same coverage and response times as those living in the northwest and northeast portions of the city. The addition of this station, apparatus, and personnel will also increase the possibility of raising the city’s ISO rating from a 2 to 1.
