Recommendation

The Engineering Staff recommends approval of the Resolution.

Description/History

The project was bid at Tarrant County on December 19, 2018 and there were five bidders for the project.  Bids ranged from a low bid of $1,267,958.00 to a high bid of $2,018,222.00.  The low bidder was Jackson Construction. The contract time for this project is Two Hundred (200) calendar days or approximately 6.5 months.  Exhibit “A” shows the limits of the proposed North Street Paving, Drainage and Utility Improvements.  Bid results are attached as Exhibit “B”.

The requested funds are for a construction contract in the amount of $1,267,958.00, a 5% construction contingency, material testing, survey services and other miscellaneous services needed to complete the construction of the project within a budget not to exceed $1,421,578.90.

Funding Source

The funding will be from the FY2017 & FY2018 Community Development Block Grant with excess costs from the Street Bond Fund and the Utility Bond Fund.
