Description/History
A general and special election was held on November 3, 2020 for the purpose of electing Council Member, Place 6 and Council Member, Place 7 for three-year terms; and unexpired terms for a Mayor, Place 1; and Council Member, Place 2. Since no candidate in either race for Mayor, Place 1 and Council Member, Place 2 received a majority of the votes cast, a runoff election must be held between the two candidates receiving the highest number of votes cast in each race. The two candidates receiving the highest number of votes in the race for Mayor, Place 1 were Brent Newsom and Michael Evans. The two candidates receiving the highest number of votes in the race for Council Member, Place 2 were Tamera J. Bounds and Scot Bowman.
The runoff election will be held in a similar manner as the general election. Early voting will be conducted Monday, November 23, 2020 through Friday, December 4, 2020. City of Mansfield registered voters residing in Tarrant County will be conducted at the Mansfield Subcourthouse and the Mansfield ISD Sports Complex as well as other locations in Tarrant County. Early voting for registered voters residing in Ellis County will be conducted at the Midlothain Conference Center. Early voting for registered voters residing in Johnson County will be conducted at the Precinct 3 Maintenance Building.
