Description/History

East Broad Elevated Storage Tank is a Two (2) Million Gallon Tank located at 3060 East Broad Street behind Fire Station No. 3. It is one-hundred seventy-three (173) feet tall.

Justification

This project consists of installing 4 poles, 8 light fixtures, and all the necessary wiring to illuminate the East Broad Elevated Storage Tank. This tank can be seen from major highways, Vernon Newsom Stadium, Big League Dreams, and other points of interest in the city. The proposed lighting equipment is designed to cast various color lights on the tank. Examples of multi-color illumination could be casting spotlights of red, white, and blue for Independence Day. Single colors can also be projected on the tank, such as pink for Breast Cancer Awareness Month. This project would give the City of Mansfield the equipment to illuminate the tank, showcasing the city’s one-hundred seventy-three (173) feet tall tower, and create a remarkable, iconic landmark and beautiful city skyline that all of Mansfield’s residents and visitors can enjoy.
