The Engineering Staff recommends approval of the Resolution.
Requested Action
Consider the Resolution authorizing a change order to the contract of Woody Contractors, LLC for FM 157 & South Parkridge Utility Improvements.
Description/History
The FM 157 and South Parkridge Utility Improvements project was awarded to Woody Contractors, LLC on June 27, 2022 for an amount not to exceed $1,435,920.05. The project is progressing and is expected to be substantially complete in August of 2023.
The contract award amount was exceeded due to items added to the contract and additional quantities needed to complete the project. See attached Change Order Tabulation for a complete breakdown of these items and their associated costs. These additional improvements and additional quantities represent a sum of $232,478.10, which is 16.2% of the original contract amount (see attached exhibit).
The FM 157 and South Parkridge Utility Improvements project is a utilities rehabilitation project that includes the replacement of water and sewer services in addition to the reconstruction of the roadway within the extents of the water and sewer improvements on South Parkridge Drive. North and South Parkridge have two separate sewer lines. The original scope and subsequent contract included the improvements to the segment of sewer service on South Parkridge only. The segment of sewer line on North Parkridge was originally thought to have been previously reconstructed based on GIS information.

Funding Source
