Discuss and consider possible action regarding TCEQ Permit #2256A.
Recommendation
Defer to City Council's review and consideration. If council wishes to consider a resolution opposing TCEQ's possible approval of permit #2256A staff could be instructed to prepare a resolution for consideration at the next regularly scheduled city council meeting.
Description/History
Southwaste Disposal, LLC, located at 525 South 6th Avenue in Mansfield, has applied to the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) for a Type V permit major amendment requesting authorization to increase the permitted processing and storage capacity of their facility and to make refinements to the existing liquid waste processing facilities within the constructed building. As part of the review process, public comments can be submitted. A public meeting on the application can also be requested.

The permit application is available for viewing and copying at the Mansfield Public Library (104 South Wisteria Street, Mansfield, Texas 76063)
How to comment on the permit application:
The deadline for submitting comments has not yet been set. That date will be set after the Executive Director has conducted the technical review and issued a preliminary decision. This was confirmed by Deputy City Manager, Joe Smolinski on February 18, 2016 via a telephone call to TCEQ.

How to request a public hearing:
The deadline to request a public hearing has not yet been set. That date will also be determined after the Executive Director has conducted the technical review and issued a preliminary decision.
The request can be made online or in writing at the addresses listed above.
To date (February 18, 2016), three requests have been made for a contested public hearing.
The following information must be provided by the individual requesting a public hearing:

* The location and distance of your property/activities from the applicant's facility
