Approve Resolution

Recommendation

Approve resolution canvassing returns of the May 12, 2012 General and Special Election.  Staff will need two council members to serve on the canvassing board to audit the returns.

Description/History

The General and Special Election was held on Saturday, May 12, 2012.  Ballots were cast for the following:

In the Council Member Place 3 race, Stephen Lindsey (Incumbent) was unopposed and will be sworn in on Tuesday, May 29, 2012.

 

In the Council Member Place 4 race, Darryl W. Haynes (Incumbent) received a majority of the votes and will be sworn in on Tuesday, May 29, 2012.

 

In the Council Member Place 5 race, none of the candidates received a majority of the votes as required by the Mansfield Charter; therefore, there will be a runoff election on June 23, 2012 between Cory Hoffman (Incumbent) and Gary Mills.
