Requested Action
The authorization of funds for an amount not to exceed $92,000 to prepare this project for public bidding.  To direct Staff to execute contracts including Neel-Schaffer, Inc.  for design services and Brittain and Crawford for surveying services.
Recommendation
The Engineering Staff recommends the authorization of funding and approval of contracts including Neel-Schaffer, Inc. for design services and Brittain & Crawford for surveying services for the North Main Street and Gertie Barret Road Water Lines.
Description/History
The primary purpose of this project is to increase the water line capacity for the Northwest area of town.  This 12 inch water line is part of our 2011 Water System Capital Improvement Plan.  The requested funds are for survey, design, right-of-way acquisition and other miscellaneous services to prepare this project for construction, to be accomplished within a budget of $92,000.
Justification
This project is part of the 2011 Water System Capital Improvement Plan.  Staff was directed by City Council to proceed with design and construction of this project.
 
The Public Works Director will be in attendance at the meeting to answer Council's questions regarding the proposed funding and contracts.
