Description/History
The 2009 Parks, Recreation, Trails and Open Spaces Master plan included a spine trail phasing and prioritization plan. The first priority on this plan was trail segment “I” which is 2.75 miles from Oliver Nature Park through Philip Thompson to Loyd Park on Joe Pool Lake, which is a continuation of the existing Walnut Creek Linear Park. Dunaway was hired in summer 2013 to assist staff formulate conceptual trail plans that could be used for future land acquisition and trail development, that phase is now complete. The project now moves into the design and construction document and bidding phases with the estimated construction budget at $3,000,000. This phase of the project will take approximately seven months with bidding for construction in the late summer of 2016 pending any constraints.
The Landscape Architectural firm along with Sub Consultants shall prepare design/construction documents and will provide bidding related services associated with the implementation of Walnut Creek Linear Park Phase II Improvements.
The professional services include:
· Design Development
· Construction Document Preparations and Drawings
· Bidding Services
The MPFDC voted 7 - 0 to approve the professional services contract at their December 10th meeting.
Justification
The MPFDC allocated funds for the Walnut Creek Linear Park/Oliver Nature Park Phase II in the FY15-16 budget for the design development and construction document preparation. This conti...
