Recommendation

Description/History
The two existing pressure reducing valves (PRV) were installed in 2003 for the conventional treatment process at The Bud Ervin Water Treatment Plant. These pressure valves take the 60 PSI water flow we receive from TRWD and slow it down to roughly 12 PSI.
Justification
The two PRV valves are failing constantly causing interruptions in the conventional treatment process. The valves will lose control and move to the wide-open position, which results in a high volume of water moving to the conventional treatment process. This creates flooding conditions in several basins. These valves must be manually closed and restarted, which the process can take up to 24 hours.
