Description/History
The attached Municipal Maintenance Agreement details the responsibilities of State and City with regards to the maintenance, control, supervision, and regulation of State highways and rights-of-way through the City of Mansfield.
Justification
The landscaped enhancements for the US 287 Frontage Road project have spurred TxDOT to review our current Municipal Maintenance Agreement. The original Municipal Maintenance Agreement was executed in 1969 and is outdated. The Texas Department of Transportation has requested that the City execute an updated agreement. The maintenance responsibilities of the City in update agreement do not change from the 1969 agreement. All affected departments have reviewed and approved the agreement.
A discussion of award of the US 287 Frontage Road project along with a separate maintenance agreement for the US 287 landscape enhancements will be brought to Council at a later date.
The Public Works Director will be in attendance at the meeting to answer Council's questions regarding this item.
