Recommendation
The authorization of funding in an amount not to exceed $700,000.00 and approval of contracts, including design services with Wier & Associates and Brittain & Crawford, to prepare Day Miar Rd. (East Broad St. to Seeton Rd.) for construction.
Description/History
Day Miar Rd. will be reconstructed to a 4-lane undivided concrete roadway with curb and gutter from East Broad St. to Seeton Rd. The scope of the project will include a water line relocation, a storm drain system with an improved parallel drainage channel. The drainage channel will be located on the west side of the roadway from the south side of Grand Meadow Blvd. to the Lake Ridge High School detention pond. Traffic signals will be designed for the intersections of Grand Meadow Blvd. and Seeton Rd.The requested funds are for design services with Wier & Associates in the amount of $361,600, an additional 5% design fee for potential design scope changes, survey services in the amount of $50,000, an additional 10% survey fee for potential survey scope changes, right-of-way and easement acquisition, subsurface investigation, and other miscellaneous services, all to be accomplished within a budget of $700,000.00.

This project is included in the Street Bond Fund Capital Plan.The Director of Public Works will be in attendance at the meeting to answer Council’s questions regarding the proposed funding and contracts.
