Description/History
The City will be adding three new attractions at Hawaiian Falls for the 2012 season. These three new attractions are projected to bring an additional 30,000 visitors to the park. The increase in attendance will require additional parking spaces. Staff will work with Mansfield National Golf Club, Big League Dreams and Hawaiian Falls to determine the best place to locate an additional parking lot that will enhance all three facilities.
Once the parking lot is designed and cost estimates have been provided, staff will bring that information to MPFDC for consideration at a future meeting.

January - Staff contracted with R-Delta Engineers, Inc. for professional services in the amount of $21,100. This scope of services will help staff develop construction documents and cost estimates for the additional parking. Surveying services as well as a site plan, paving plan, lighting plan and grading and drainage plans are included in this contract.

February - R-Delta has begun surveying the site for the new parking lot near the existing golf course parking lot. Once the survey information is gathered, a base map will be completed and the parking lot site planning will begin. This parking lot should accommodate approximately 115 additional spaces for Hawaiian Falls and Big League Dreams staff parking, as well as overflow parking for all three partners, including Mansfield National Golf Club.

March - R-Delta has submitted the preliminary design plans to City staff for comments and also an estimate of probable construction costs. Once the comments are gathered and addressed, the consultant will deliver final plans to staff for the bid process.
