Description/History
On May 29, 2015, FEMA declared a Major Disaster Declaration for Tarrant County (DR-4223). During the May 2015 flooding event's debris in the form of trees, tree branches, and trash washed into and lodged against four sewer line crossings along Walnut Creek.
Justification
Removing the debris is critical to allowing unobstructed flow through Walnut Creek. The debris hung on the sewer line crossings will cause turbulent flow, which will in time undermine the sewer lines support structures.
Funding Source
Utility Fund, with possible reimbursement from FEMA up to seventy-five percent of total expense.
