Requested Action

Authorization of funding for an amount not to exceed $194,860.00 and approval of a contract with Freese and Nichols, Inc. for design services.

 

 

Recommendation

The Engineering Staff recommends the authorization of funding and approval of a contract with Freese  Nichols, Inc. for design services for the Meter Station on Future TRA MCRWS Interceptor.

 

 

Description/History

The City of Mansfield has been proceeding with entering the Mountain Creek Regional Wastewater System operated by the Trinity River Authority (TRA).  This effort was necessary to serve the Somerset Development by Hanover.  A meter station that will be owned by TRA will be installed on the sewer interceptor along Mountain Creek.  This contract is for the TRA report submittals and construction plans for this meter station.

 

 

Justification

This project is a necessary component of our Utility Master Plan to begin serving the Mountain Creek sewer basin

 

The City Engineer will be in attendance at the meeting to answer Council’s questions regarding the proposed funding and contracts.
