Description/History
The Nugent Hart House was constructed by Joseph Nugent, an early mayor of Mansfield, in the 1890's. The house was donated to St. Jude Catholic Church by the Hart family, and repaired by the church for use as the rectory.
The church is seeking to designate the property as a Mansfield historic landmark. The house was recognized as a Texas Historic Landmark in 1983. The Historical Landmark Overlay designation allows the Historic Landmark Commission to review future alterations to the structure and protect the house's historic significance. The base zoning will remain SF-7.5/12.
