Recommendation
The Planning and Zoning Copmmission held a public hearing on January 19, 2016 and voted 6-0 to recommend approval. Commissioner Polozola was absent.
Description/History
The property is immediately south of Storage Hut mini-warehouses on Russell Lane and backs up to the Dalton property with a gas well site and the northeast corner of Silverleaf Mobile Home Park.
The applicant represents a developer who wishes to develop the property for an office in the front and 75 boat and RV storage units in the back. The storage units will have open sides, except for the masonry façade facing Russell Lane. A 6’ wrought iron fence with masonry columns will provide control access to the storage units. An 8’ masonry wall will be constructed along the southern property line to provide screening for the existing residence.
The proposed boat and RV storage is intended to be an expansion of the existing mini warehouses to the north. The office building on the front is intended to help screen the open storage units. It has architectural features similar to the Storage Hut rental office next door.
