Description/History
The contract for the Design-Build Services for the addition and renovations to the City of Mansfield Animal Care and Control Facility to be awarded to Speed Fab-Crete and the City Manager be authorized to execute the Contract Documents
Justification
Council has selected the Design-Build method as the best value for the construction of the addition and renovations to the City of Mansfield Animal Care and Control Facility. The Design-Build is responsible for all architectural planning and design, cost estimating, schedule, value engineering, constructability review during the design and construction document phases, preparation of all construction documents with required architect and engineer seals, and the bonding, construction and warranty of the entire project. Following the Design and Development of the project by the Architect the Design-Builder will present the final cost of the project to Council for their approval
Three (3) Design-Build Contractors submitted Request for Qualification packets on May 1, 2014. All packets outlined the Qualification Questionnaire and grading point system to be utilized in selection of the Design-Build team. Attached find the list of the packets submitted. Each submittal was reviewed and graded by a staff committee. It was the decision of this committee that Speed Fab-Crete Corporation be recommended as best qualified to provide the Deisgn-Build Services for this project
Funding Source
Building Construction Fund. Final cost of project will be brought back to Council for approval
