Requested Action
To consider the subject zoning change request.
 
Recommendation
The Planning and Zoning Commission held a public hearing on April 15, 2013.  No one spoke in favor or in opposition.  Commissioner Hudson made a motion to approve the zoning change.  Chairman Wilshire seconded the motion, which failed by a 2 - 2 vote.  Commissioners Jacobus and Polozola voted nay.
 
Description/History
The applicant is requesting the Two-Family Residential zoning, which will allow two attached residential units of at least 1,000 square foot each.  The recently adopted Residential Architectural Attributes will also apply to the proposed development.
 
The subject property abuts the City of Arlington to the north and east.  The lots in Arlington along McMurtry Drive to the north are zoned for single-family detached dwellings on 6,000 square foot lots.  The Planned Development to the east is for 5,000, 6,000 and 7,200 square foot lots with a density of 3.76 units per acre.
