Discussion and Possible Action Regarding Lease and Permit Options with the Pilot Parklet Program

 

Requested Action

Staff is requesting direction regarding follow-up to the discussion of lease and permit options with the Pilot Parklet Program.

 

Description/History

The Pilot Parklet Program began in July 2020, allowing for permit holders to build structures for public gathering in existing public parking spaces in the Historic Downtown area. The Pilot Parklet Program allows permit holders to maintain their permit through January 10, 2021.

 

Justification

Following discussions regarding the allowances of permitted or leased public right-of-way, staff is bringing those findings to City Council for discussion and possible action regarding options with the Pilot Parklet Program.
