Description/History
The Texas Department of State Health Services Office of Emergency Medical Services Trauma Systems Coordination has announced the availability of funding for local grant projects. This is an annual application process that Mansfield Fire Department has been successful with over several years for funding towards ambulances and EMS equipment and supplies. The City of Mansfield has received $35,000 in the years of 2004 and 2006 for the purchase of an ambulance. In 2007, the City of Mansfield received funds of $7,500 towards the purchase of a cardiac monitor. The maximum allowable grant funding per agency is $50,000.
The project application is to be submitted on May 28, 2013 with a contract period for reimbursement of November 1, 2013 to August 31, 2014.
Justification
The grant application if approved will allow the City of Mansfield to acquire funding to reimburse costs towards the purchase of an ambulance and cardiac monitors for Mansfield Fire Department. There is a 50% match requirement from the City of Mansfield with the maximum reimbursement of $35,000 towards the ambulance.
