Description/History

First Reading - September 28, 2015

Staff is proposing an increase in the application fees for zoning changes, plats, and development documents as shown in Exhibit “A”.  The fees for regular zoning applications and plats have not been changed since the 1990’s.  The fees for Planned Developments, Specific Use Permits, Concept Plans and Detailed Site Plans have not been increased since 2008.  As development projects have become more complex, Staff must spend more time reviewing development applications, site plans, plats and related documents.  These reviews involve staff members from different departments, including the Planning, Engineering, Fire and Parks Departments, and regularly involve multiple meetings with developers throughout the review process.  The current fees do not adequately defray the costs of staff time and resources in processing these applications.

Second Reading - October 12, 2015

The road damage remediation fees related to gas well drilling have been revised to increase the assessment per lane mile of concrete streets and the minimum/maximum fees per well (see page 3 of the attached Exhibit A).
