Description/History
The City Council approved the Joint Election Agreement with the Mansfield Independent School District for the May 12, 2012 General Election on January 23, 2012.

Upon request of the MISD, Section X. Election Expenses, of the joint agreement was revised to clarify they would be responsible for the election expenses associated with Johnson County voters only. The City of Mansfield will be responsible for election expenses associated with Johnson County and Ellis County voters.

Section X, Election Expenses, has been amended to read as follows:

X. ELECTION EXPENSES
The participating authorities agree to equally sharing the costs of administering the May 12, 2012, election. The City of Mansfield agrees to provide the MIISD with an estimate of election expenses as soon as possible no later than April 16, 2012. MISD agrees to remit to the City of Mansfield, two weeks after receipt of estimate a sum equal to 50% of the total estimated costs of election expenses for only the costs associated with the Johnson County voters. Final election expenses will be determined within 30 days of the election, and the City will provide MISD with a final accounting. It is agreed that the remaining balance owed by the MISD will be submitted to the City no later than thirty (30) days after receipt of the final accounting.
Justification
The City of Mansfield will not incur all costs associated with the voters located in Johnson County.
Funding Source
All election costs are budgeted in City Council account 01-8806-11-01. MISD will pay a sum equal to 50% of the election expenses for only the costs associated with the Johnson County voters...
