Description/History
The Criminal Justice Division (CJD) of the Governor’s Office of The Great State of Texas is soliciting applications for projects that reduce crime and improve the criminal justice system. Funding is for the state fiscal year 2013 grant cycle. Applications are due to the North Central Texas Council of Governments (NCTCOG) for review as soon as possible prior to submission to the CJD by February 24, 2012.
Grant-funded projects must begin on or after September 1, 2012, and expire on or before August 31, 2013.
Justification
The Mansfield Police Department has outlined several needs that have been designated as individual projects under this grant funding source. The minimum project amount is $10,000 and the maximum project amount is $80,000. Those projects are estimated and outlined as follows:

1. Crime Scene Equipment (Amount not to exceed $30,000)

2. Vehicle - Victim's Assistance Unit (Amount not to exceed $20,000)

3. P25 Compatible Mobile and Handheld Radios (Amount not to exceed $78,000)

4. Automated License Plate Recognition Systems (Amount not to exceed $68,000)

5. Forensic Training (Amount not to exceed $24,000)

6. DNA Refrigeration Storage Unit (Amount not to exceed $40,000)

7. Record Management System Server Upgrades (Amount not to exceed $80,000)

8. Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Wireless/Digital Scales (Amount not to exceed $40,000)

9. Radio System's Manager (Personnel) (Amount not to exceed $80,000)
