Description/History
The City recognizes that donation boxes can make valuable contributions to the social well-being of communities. However, if not properly located and maintained, they can negatively affect quality of life, property values, and the aesthetic appeal of neighborhoods. In response, the adopted regulations in Section 155.099, Special Conditions, to establish clear standards for the placement and upkeep of donation boxes.

To further clarify the regulations in Section 155.099(40) regarding donation boxes, the Department of Planning and Development Services has developed minor text amendments to enhance the administration of these rules.

Currently, Section 155.099(B)(40)(2) prohibits the placement of donation boxes within 500 feet of U.S. Highway 287, U.S. Business Highway 287, and State Highway 360. The proposed amendment reduces the setback to 300 feet, aligning with the City’s Freeway Overlay Distr...
