Requested Action
The approval of a contract award for mowing services for FY2018.
Recommendation
The Environmental Staff recommends the approval of the contract award to CP Landscape for mowing services and the authorization of funding.
Description/History
The project bid on April 6, 2018 and there was only one bid for the project.
Staff is recommending award of this project and authorization of funding for the bid amount of $53,000.00
The only bidder was CP Landscape. The initial contract time for this project is one year and will be reviewed to determine subsequent renewal terms. At the City's option, this contract may be renewable up to four (4) additional one year terms with acceptable cost increases due to scope of work additions or inflation related increases.
CP Landscape has provided this service to the City of Mansfield since 2009. The level of service provided has always been acceptable. The drainage areas to be mowed use a combination of brush hog, commercial mowers and string trimmers to service. The bid included 2 properties in residential areas that this contractor has agreed to waive their right too. This will allow staff to use a local contractor to service these locations for a lower fee than having these properties serviced by CP Landscape.
Justification
The total contract cost includes up to four mowings for a variety of areas, but the number of mowings are dictated by staff on an as needed basis.
A Resolution is attached for Council's consideration
Funding Source
The funding source will be the Drainage Utility Account.
