Description/History

On September 7, 2017, the City Council adopted Ordinance OR-2058-17 amending the definition of junked vehicles in the Code of Ordinances Chapter 93, "Junked Vehicles" regulations to make the requirements consistent with Chapter 683, Subchapter E of the Texas Transportation Code. These provisions declare junked vehicles a nuisance and provides authority for the City to regulate junked vehicles in accordance with the terms of that subchapter.

 

Justification

The proposed revisions will amend the definition of junked vehicles to allow the City to continue its efforts to maintain consistency and conformity with the junked vehicle provisions currently outlined by state law.
