Description/History
This year, the Historic Mansfield Music Festival will take place in the downtown area on October 16 and 17. In 2008, TxDOT approved a five-year agreement to allow street closure for this event. The proposed resolution is part of the annual paperwork required by TxDOT.
The street will be closed from noon, October 16 until midnight, October 17. Broad Street will remain open to traffic.
The Mansfield Police Department and Constable Clint Burgess will be responsible for security and traffic control. The festival organizers have met with staff from the Parks, Police and Fire Departments and worked out the details of the street closure and detour route (see map).
Downtown merchants are in support of this annual event. The street closure will provide room for more exciting programs and greater safety for the pedestrians. The festival program and music schedule will be available at www.HistoricMansfield.net
