Description/History
McClendon Park East was constructed in 1994 with assistance from Texas Parks and Wildlife and is connected to McClendon Park West by an unimproved, natural trail. The park consists of one lighted baseball field, a concession/restroom building, a pavilion and small playground area.
The project was advertised for bid on January 29th and February 5th. The bid opening was held on February 13th, with 11 firms submitting bids. Following review of project experience and reference checks, staff is recommending an award to D. L. Meacham Construction in an amount not to exceed $418,447.70. This amount includes a $50,000 owner’s contingency. The bid tab is attached. Funding for this phase of the project is included in the FY2024-2025 MPFDC budget.
Justification
The project will provide new and improved park amenities for residents in the southwest quadrant of the city as indicated by the master plan.
