In FY 2015 The Fort Worth Transportation District was allocated $2.2 million for the Green Ribbon reimbursement program. City staff (Parks and Transportation Departments) submitted an application for landscaping on FM 917 from Business 287 to the West city limits. In July, 2014, the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) Fort Worth District approved the City of Mansfield for Green Ribbon Landscape funds. The City of Mansfield has been approved for a fixed amount of $390,000 for the landscaping and irrigation on FM917. Direct State costs will not be charged, but costs over $390,000 for bid items will be the City’s responsibility. The Advanced funding agreement with TxDot was approved by City Council and concurred by TxDOT in March of 2015. The City had previously asked for an extension of the letting date due to consultant coordination, which was granted and approved by TxDOT.
