Requested Action
Re-appoint three members and appoint a new member to the Library Advisory Board.
Recommendation
Reappoint Cindy Gray, Judy Lee, and Sherri Chambers to the Board, and appoint Bobby Quinten to the Board for a first term. Each member serves a two-year term from October 1, 2009 through September 30, 2011.
Description/History
The Library Advisory Board serves as the liaison between the community, City Administration, and the City Council on matters relating to public library service. There are seven members of the Board who serve two-year staggered terms.
Justification
The Library Advisory Board allows closer contact between the Library and the citizens regarding public library service. A Library Advisory Board is required by the City Charter.
