Description/History
Design of the South Holland Road Improvements (Grand Meadow Parkway to Britton Road) was included in the 2005 Street Bond Program approved by the voters in the 2004 bond election. The design of this project will be divided into two phases. Phase 1 will consist of the detailed design and production of bid ready plans and specifications for the extension of the South Holland Road improvements from Grand Meadows Parkway to Waterford Glen Drive. These proposed improvements will continue the widening of South Holland Road from a two-lane asphalt roadway to a 4-lane median divided concrete thoroughfare with storm sewer.
Phase 2 will consist of the schematic design of South Holland Road from Waterford Glen Drive to Britton Road. This will include the production of a roadway design schematic, drainage area map, existing utility map, Phase 2 construction cost estimate, and a preliminary engineering report documenting the drainage study, utility modeling, and geotechnical soil report & recommendations. The schematic drawings and report will serve as the basis for the eventual production of final plans for the extension of the South Holland Road improvements but are not themselves sufficient for construction purposes.
