Description/History
The Animal Care and Control Shelter operation currently depends on a Records Management System (RMS) provided by a vendor and is not compatible with the Police Department's system and provides no guarantee for long term records retention and management. In 2006, when the Police Department purchased the RMS we still have today, software dedicated to records management for animal shelter operations was not available. The software needed to manage this type of operation is now available and compatible with our present system.
Justification
The Animal Care and Control Shelter operation currently depends on a Records Management System (RMS) provided by a vendor and is not compatible with the Police Department's system and provides no guarantee for long term records retention and management.
Records Management System (RMS) software module with 3 terminals - this will allow for more efficient tracking of animal adoptions, transfers to other agencies, reports, calls, access to records, livestock permit management, animal related investigations and personnel management.
The funding, if awarded, will allow for the purchase of the software module which will be added to the Police Department's records management system.
