Description/History
In 2010, the Arlington Public Library and Mansfield Public Library entered into an interlocal agreement that provided access to public library collections and services by the citizens of both cities in each city's library. The current agreement has worked very well between Mansfield and Arlington, and therefore both cities would like to extend the interlocal agreement to include the cities of Kennedale and Grand Prairie.

Justification
The citizens of all four cities will have access to the public library collections and digital services from all four libraries, in effect, providing one large multi-access public library system.

Funding Source
General Fund as outlined in the FY2013/2014 adopted budget; Kennedale and Grand Prairie are entering the service agreement with the assistance of a grant obtained by the Arlington Public Library from the Institute of Library and Museum services, through the Texas State Library and Archives Commission.
