Consider the Resolution awarding a construction contract for an asphalt overlay of East Debbie Lane from approximately 400 feet east of Walnut Creek Drive to approximately 500 feet west of Matlock Road to Texas Materials Group, Inc. dba TexasBit, Authorizing and Directing the City Manager or Designee to Execute Contract Documents; and Authorizing Funding for an Amount Not to Exceed $715,000.00

The Public Works Staff recommends approval of the Resolution.

Description/History
E. Debbie Lane from approximately Walnut Creek Drive to Matlock Road has experienced pavement degradation and poor ride quality over the past several years. To improve ride quality and to extend the pavement integrity an asphalt overlay of the existing concrete pavement is proposed. The ride quality issues exist from approximately 400 feet east of Walnut Creek Drive to 500 west of Matlock Road

The proposed asphalt overlay will be the same material that has been placed on East Broad Street between Matlock Road and Fire Station #3, Heritage Parkway and National Parkway and on Mansfield Webb Road. This material is more flexible than standard asphalt and has held up well in these locations giving prior concrete pavement conditions. From the previous performance of the product the anticipated life space is 5 years.

The material that will be used has a patent and the supplier has an exclusive manufacturing and supply agreement with Texas Materials Group, Inc. The requested approval of fun...
