Description/History

This private property is in the floodway/floodplain/Corp of Engineers flowage easement along Walnut Creek.  The property acquisition is necessary for the progression of the Walnut Creek Linear Park trail extension from Oliver Nature Park to Joe Pool Lake.  This lot ties to other lots in this subdivision being considered for purchase for trail right-of-way. The MPFDC approved this purchase 6 - 0 at their November 5, 2015 Board meeting.

 

Justification

This property is adjacent to Walnut Creek and will be trail right-of-way for the Walnut Creek Linear Park trail system to Joe Pool Lake.
