Requested Action
Resolution awarding a one year renewable contract for the supply of one tone cylinders of chlorine.
 
Recommendation
City staff recommends awarding the contract to the lowest and best bidder, DPC Industries Inc., for the amount of $648.80 / wet ton.
 
Description/History
The invitation to bid was advertised in the Fort Worth Star Telegram, posted on the City of Mansfield website, and bid packets were e-mailed to known suppliers and companies that requested them.
 
Justification
Chlorine in conjuction with sodium chlorite is generated on-site to make chlorine dioxide, which decreases the iron and manganese in the pretreated water.
