Description/History
FY2015 Bulletproof Vest Partnership Program is administered by the U.S. Department of Justice, Office of Justice Programs. On June 16, 1998 the Bulletproof Vest Partnership (BVP) Grant Act of 1998 was signed into law. The purpose of this Act is to save the lives of law enforcement officers with body armor (vests). The program is designed to reimburse up to 50% of the cost of body armor worn by law enforcement and approved by the National Institute of Justice.

The vests target for replacement will reach the manufacturers service life during the FY15-16 and 16-17 budget year. The City would be eligible for appproximately $20,000 in federal grant money if our application is approved and grant funds are awarded.
Funding Source
