Description/History

In June, 2008, the Mansfield Park Facilities Development Corporation (MPFDC) accepted a 1.7 acre land dedication by plat from the Spring Lake Estates Development in accordance with the Park Land Dedication Ordinance.  The park is being constructed through park development fees in accordance with the Park Land Dedication Ordinance and will be completed in late February, 2016.

Justification

In an effort to name the new park, the President of the MPFDC appointed a naming committee to make a recommendation to the Parks Corporation Board.  The three-member committee included Sandra Hightower, Wendy Collini and Dee Davey.  The committee met on December 3, 2015, followed the park naming guidelines, decided on a name for the new park, and presented their recommendation to the Board at the December 10th meeting.  The MPFDC approved the name for the new neighborhood park and staff will provide the recommendation to City Council at the December 14th City Council meeting.
