Description/History

"The Canals" is a planned development focused on creating a vibrant mixed-use community. This project will include residential, commercial, and recreational spaces connected by a winding waterway. The nature of the uses, along with the waterfront development, is designed to attract premium retail and dining options.

This development will be located in the heart of Mansfield, roughly framed by Heritage Parkway, Broad Street, Matlock Road, and Regency Parkway. The City has purchased 9 acres of this currently undeveloped land to establish a civic presence in a district centered on community engagement and experiences. This 9-acre site, located approximately at the intersection of Regency and Heritage, will be the future home of the new City Hall and two economic development sites that will frame a public park plaza.

Justification

This project will provide vital infrastructure to two economic development sites, the new City Hall, and a Park Plaza.
