Requested Action
Resolution authorizing a one year renewable contract for the purchase of Poly-Aluminum Chloride (PACL).
 
Recommendation
City staff recommends awarding the bid to the lowest bidder, ChemTrade Chemicals, for the amount of $410.00 / wet ton.
 
Description/History
The invitation to bid was advertised in the Fort Worth Star Telegram, posted on the City of Mansfield website, and bid packets were e-mailed to know suppliers and companies that requested them.
 
Justification
Poly-Aluminum Chloride (PACL) is the primary coagulant used at the water treatment plant. Coagulants are used to clarify water and remove organic material that may contain viruses and bacteria.

Utility Fund FY-2015, FY-2016 Operating Budget 25-8105-8401.
