Description/History
Parks staff and Planning staff have worked together since fall 2011 to formulate a plan for the implementation of trees and supporting structures throughout the City.  E. Broad Street, N. Holland Road, and Matlock Road landscape and irrigation had previously been designed to mirror the landscape designs along Debbie Lane and Matlock Road north of Cannon Drive.  With the intention of utilizing Tree Mitigation Funds, the plans were modified to include trees only and the supporting irrigation structures.

The bid notice for the tree planting and irrigation project was advertised in the Star-Telegram on March 26th and April 2th, and bids were opened on April 10th.  At the bid opening the apparent low bidder was North Texas Hydromulching & Services and after review of the bid submittal, this contractor represents the best value to the City.

Justification
To provide additional trees for the City of Mansfield through the Tree Mitigation Fund

Funding Source
Tree Mitigation Fund
