Description/History
The City of Mansfield has established a policy for naming/re-naming parks and recreation facilities. The process routes proposals and recommendations through the Mansfield Park Facilities Development Corporation to the City Council for final consideration.
Justification
A three-member naming committee was appointed by the president of the MPFDC to consider naming proposals for parks and recreation facilities. The three members included Sandra Hightower, Wendy Collini, and Dee Davey. The naming committee presented their recommendation to the Board at the April 21st regular meeting. The MPFDC approved the renaming and directed staff to provide the recommendation to City Council at the June 13th City Council Meeting.
