Requested Action
Approval of the change order to the contract with McClendon Construction, Inc.
Recommendation
The Engineering Staff recommends the approval of the change order to the contract with McClendon Construction, Inc.
Description/History
The project was awarded by Resolution 2852-12 to McClendon Construction, Inc., for an amount not to exceed $332,818.23.  The change order represents 0.912% in addition to the resolution.  
 
The contract award amount was exceeded due to additional work beyond the scope of the contract.  A Pavestone retaining wall was added to preserve a mature pine tree in a resident's yard.
Justification
The additional work was beyond the scope of the contract.  
The Public Works Director will be in attendance at the meeting to answer Council's questions regarding the proposed change order.  A Resolution is attached for Council's consideration.
Funding Source
The funding source will be from the Street Bond Fund.
