Title
Resolution - A Resolution Awarding A Contract For Street Sweeping Services For FY 2015 to Sweeping Services of Texas - Operating L.P. for an Amount Not To Exceed $89,000 (Drainage Utility Fund)
Requested Action
The approval of a contract award for street sweeping services for FY2015
Recommendation
The Environmental Staff recommends the approval of the contract award to Sweeping Services of Texas - Operating L.P. for street sweeping services and the authorization of funding.
Description/History
The project bid on October 29, 2014 and there was only one bid for the project.
Staff is recommending award of this project and authorization of funding for the bid amount of $89,000.
The only bidder was Sweeping Services of Texas - Operating L.P.  The contract time for this project is twelve months.  Bid tabulation is attached
Justification
Sweeping Services of Texas - Operating L.P. has provided this service to other cities in the region. The City's previous sweeping contractor's level of communication and service drastically deteriorated the previous year and so it was determined to rebid the service. This represents a significant increase in cost from the previous contractor. During the course of this fiscal year, staff will evaluate options and other means of completing this service at a lower rate.
A Resolution is attached for Council's consideration.
Funding Source
The funding source will be the Drainage Utility Account.
