Ordinance - An Ordinance of the City Council of the City of Mansfield, Texas, Approving a Request to Abandon a Right-of-Way Easement Located within the Retta Estates Subdivision

Requested Action

To consider the subject Right-of-Way Easement abandonment.

Recommendation

The Engineering Staff recommends the approval of the Right-of-Way Easement abandonment.

Description/History
The Retta Estates single-family development is under construction at the intersection of Retta Road and Speers Drive. The existing 8” sanitary sewer main and 10-foot wide Right-of-Way Easement were located along the northern property line of the development and rear of the lots that were subdivided with the Retta Estates development along Washington Street. A new sanitary sewer line has been successfully constructed within the right-of way of Washington Street. The existing 8” line has been abandoned within the Right-of-Way Easement.

Justification
Abandoning this right-of-way easement will allow the development of single-family homes without the encumbrance of a Right-of-Way Easement located on private property.

Funding Source
No funding necessary.
