Requested Action
Approve the subject ordinance for adoption of the proposed 2024 Master Thoroughfare Plan.
Recommendation
The Engineering Department recommends approval of the proposed 2024 Master Thoroughfare Plan.
Description/History
A Master Thoroughfare Plan Alternatives Analysis was recently completed by Kimley-Horn. This analysis took a detailed look at several of the roadway segments shown on the Master Thoroughfare Plan (MTP) to refine the specific plan for those streets. One of the streets that supports neighborhood connectivity, the Vinewood Dr. Extension, was part of this analysis.
It was determined that the best alignment for the street was to connect to Heritage Pkwy. at Commerce Dr. It was also determined that a connecting street to US 287 would provide additional connectivity to US 287.
Justification
These amendments are recommended as part of the Master Thoroughfare Plan Alternatives Analysis previously prepared by Kimley-Horn.
The Director of Engineering Services will attend the meeting to answer Council’s questions regarding the 2024 Master Thoroughfare Plan Update. An ordinance is attached for Council’s consideration.
