Requested Action
The authorization of funds for an amount not to exceed $240,000.00 to prepare this project for public bidding. To direct Staff to execute the necessary contracts including Halff Associates, Inc. for engineering design services and Brittain and Crawford for surveying services.

Description/History
This project is an extension of the Debbie Lane median project that was recently completed that added a raised center median from FM 157 to US 287. This project consists of designing a raised center median and landscaping for Debbie Lane from FM 157 to US Business Hwy 287 and will include repairing base failures, mill and overlay of the roadway pavement and the design of sidewalks along the entire length of the project. The requested funds are for survey, engineering design that includes approval to execute a contract with Halff Associates, Inc for an amount not to exceed of $132,400.00, right-of-way acquisition and other miscellaneous services to prepare this project for construction. These services will be accomplished within a budget of $240,000.00.
Justification
The design of this project was included in year one of the approved Certificate of Obligation Street List. The design and future construction of a raised center median along Debbie Lane will enhance safety and increase capacity.
