Requested Action
To consider the subject amendment
Recommendation
The Planning and Zoning Commission held a public hearing on March 2, 2015 and voted 3 (Dodson, Polozola and Smithee) to 2 (Wilshire and Hudson) to take no action on the amendment and forward it to City Council. Commissioners Neuman and Knight were absent.
Description/History
The proposed amendment is intended to better inform homeowners and property owners of the proximity of gas well drill sites. It is done in conjunction with the amendment of the gas well drilling regulations. A note will be required on any plat for single-family residential development that identifies all lots within 300 feet of the boundary of a gas well drill site. The plat note is intended to be picked up during the title company's review prior to closing. The new requirement will apply to single-family residential plats in the City as well as in the extra-territorial jurisdiction.
See the attached ordinance for the language of the proposed amendment.
