Requested Action
Consider the suspension of the Procedural Rules of Council as set out in Section 1.02 (J) "General Rules - Suspension of Rules" and reschedule the regularly scheduled City Council meeting of March 9, 2015 to March 16, 2015.
Recommendation
Suspend the Procedural Rules of Council and reschedule the March 9, 2015 Regular City Council meeting to March 16, 2015.
Description/History
Spring Break has been scheduled for March 9, 2015 through March 13, 2015.
 
The following sections of the Procedural Rules of council are being provided for informational purposes.
 
Section 1.02 General Rules
J.  Suspension of Rules:  Any provision of these rules not governed by the City Charter or State Law may be temporarily suspended by a majority vote (four) of all members of the Council.  The vote on any such suspension shall be taken and entered upon the records.  If there is an objection to suspending the rules, a vote is required to proceed.
 
Section 1.03 Meetings
A.  Regular Meetings:  The Council shall meet regularly on the second and fourth Monday of each month.  The regular meetings of the Council shall be held in the Council Chamber of the City Hall unless otherwise established by the Council.  
Justification
Due to spring break there may be a possibility of a quorum not being present to hold a meeting.
